We are officially launching closed beta for World of Mercenaries.
What does that mean, and what will you find here?
For the newcomers, here is a short introduction (veterans can skip):
World of Mercenaries is a skill-based and teamwork-focused first-person-shooter developed with Unreal Engine 3, offering fast-paced game play and a high degree of freedom of movement.
You are a mercenary in search for fame & fortune, fighting along and against other fierce warriors.
But what exactly will you find here?
Well, besides obvious shooting fun, here is a quick takeaway of what this closed beta offers you:
- Two very different maps;
- Two game modes, a classic one and a heavily team-oriented one;
- An ultimate playground that you can cross as you see fit;
- Six different weapons;
- Dual health system;
- Frequent updates and improvements;
- Access to the Beta forums where you have a direct line to the developers and other Beta testers;
- And more to come!
More importantly, for the first time you will have access to maps that are in development, for you to help shaping them into the ultimate competitive battlegrounds they need to become.
We insist on the fact that this beta is here for US to hear what YOU have to say, as we want to have the game evolve with you!
So what should you do to access beta and start playing?
Creating your profile on the website and following all the steps is a good start.
We will then issue beta keys by waves, so be patient – it might come sooner than later.
You will receive said key by email, as well as the process to get to download the game from Steam.
Be sure to add the address firstname.lastname@example.org into your safe senders list.
And then, it will be up to you to enjoy shooting, whether with friends or strangers – or against them
As a close up, I can suggest you to bookmark the forums!
Beta testers have a dedicated section where they can discuss extensively about the game, as the NDA you complied to by signing up for the beta doesn’t allow you – for now – to talk about the game outside said private forum.
The general section is open to all, so go wild!
The official language for the forums – and more importantly the feedback one – is English.
We also recently created an international section for you to feel comfy around here in your own language – just keep in mind that the developer team won’t be able to bounce back on that.
That’s it, you are set!
See you soon WoMers, sharpen those skills of yours!
